School Closure Wednesday & Thursday 24 & 25 June
Following updated guidance and a Red weather warning for extreme heat later this week, we will be closed to pupils and staff on Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast temperatures for our area are expected to reach 37°C on Wednesday and up to 39°C on Thursday, with the highest temperatures occurring during the school day. The national warning highlights a risk to health even for those who are usually well.
This decision has been made with the strong advice of our Trust, after careful consideration. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sufficient mitigation within our school to ensure that pupils and staff remain safe in such extreme temperatures.
We will be open as normal tomorrow (Tuesday) and Friday and will follow the arrangements for managing the heat as shared with you earlier today.
We appreciate that this may cause inconvenience, and we thank you for your understanding as we prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our school community.
If there are any further updates, we will share these as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Amy Townsend
Executive Headteacher
