School to re-open tomorrow (Friday)

We are pleased to inform you that school will reopen tomorrow, as the weather forecast is now much less extreme. We would like to reassure you that we are closely following Department for Education (DfE) guidance to ensure children continue to enjoy school safely and comfortably.

Please continue to take the following precautions to help keep everyone safe and comfortable throughout the day:
 - Apply long-lasting sun cream before school. Ideally, this should last all day. If this is not possible, please send your child in with named sun cream that they can apply themselves at lunchtime. They must not share this with other children.
- Ensure your child brings a sun hat and a clearly labelled water bottle to school each day.
- Send your child in their PE kit for the whole week, as this may be cooler than standard uniform. If your child feels their uniform is cooler then you can of course stay with that. Please ensure that PE kit is appropriate for school, and that shorts are of a suitable length.
-We ask year 6 to please leave their Leavers Hoodies at home this week.

We are continuing to put several measures in place to help keep everyone cool and well during the heat and will review this throughout the day, based on the temperatures:
- Playtimes and lunchtimes will be adapted, with calmer activities available in shaded areas.
- Indoor spaces will remain open for any children who prefer to stay inside during hotter parts of the day.
- Classrooms will be kept as cool as possible through the use of fans, blinds and open windows where appropriate.
- PE will only take place in the morning and will be adapted for the weather.

Thank you for your support and cooperation in keeping everyone safe and well. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow.

Many Thanks
